AK Steel announced it will add a $10 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in June 2009.
AK Steel's surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products. April 2009 purchase costs were used to determine the June 2009 surcharges.

AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steels, primarily for automotive, appliance, construction and electrical power generation and distribution markets.
