AK Steel Announces January 2010 Surcharges
12/04/2009 - AK Steel will add a $155 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in January 2010.
AK Steel has announced that it will add a $155 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in January 2010.
The company noted that its surcharges are based on reported prices for the raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products. November 2009 purchase costs were used to determine the January 2010 surcharges.

AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steels, primarily for automotive, appliance, construction and electrical power generation and distribution markets. The company employs about 6000 men and women in Middletown, Mansfield, Coshocton and Zanesville, Ohio; Butler, Pa.; Ashland, Ky.; Rockport, Ind.; and its corporate headquarters in West Chester, Ohio.
