AK Steel will add a $215 per ton surcharge to invoices for flat-rolled carbon steel products shipped in January 2006. AK Steel will also add a $255 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in January.

AK Steel notes that its surcharges are based on reported prices for the raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products. November 2005 purchase costs were used to determine the January 2006 surcharges.

AK Steel will publish January 2006 surcharges on the company's website.
