AK Steel Announces February 2006 Surcharges

Jan. 19, 2006 — AK Steel has advised its customers that it will be adding a $205 per ton surcharge to invoices for flat rolled carbon steel products shipped in February 2006. AK will also add a $280 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in the same period.
The company notes that its surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the December 2005 purchase costs used to determine the February 2006 surcharges.
