Sep. 12, 2006 — AK Steel has advised its customers that it will add a $290 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in October 2006.

AK Steel noted that its surcharges are based on reported prices for the raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the August 2006 purchase costs used to determine the October 2006 surcharges.
