Nov. 7, 2006 — AK Steel announced that it will add a $135 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in December 2006.

The company noted that its surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products. October 2006 purchase costs were used to determine the December 2006 surcharges.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
