AK Steel Announces Electrical, Stainless Surcharges for May

AK Steel says it will add a $340 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in May 2007.

The company notes that its surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the March 2007 purchase cost used to determine the May 2007 surcharges.

AK Steel has summarized its May 2007 surcharges on its website.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
