AK Steel will add a $228 per ton surcharge to invoices for flat-rolled carbon steel products shipped in December 2005. The company will also add a $330 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in the same period.

AK Steel bases its surcharges on reported prices for the raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products; October 2005 purchase costs were used to determine the December 2005 surcharges.
