03/04/2011 - AK Steel says it will add a $400 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in April 2011.
AK Steel has announced that it will add a $400 per ton surcharge to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in April 2011.
The company noted that its surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products. February 2011 purchase costs were used to determine the April 2011 surcharges.

AK Tube LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of AK Steel, employs about 300 men and women in plants in Walbridge, Ohio, and Columbus, Ind. AK Tube produces carbon and stainless electric resistance welded (ERW) tubular steel products for truck, automotive and other markets.
