AK Steel: Acquisition Will Bring It Even Closer to Auto Customers
07/07/2017 - AK Steel’s announced acquisition of tooling and stamped components manufacturer Precision Partners will give the steelmaker a fully integrated downstream platform, one that will allow for closer collaboration with its automotive customers, said AK Steel chief executive Roger Newport.
"Precision Partners specializes in lightweight, complex and hard-to-manufacture components and they are the ‘go-to’ problem solver in this space, embracing the most challenging and complex components, just as AK Steel focuses on providing high quality carbon, stainless and electrical steel product solutions to its customers,” Newport said during a call to discuss the US$360 million acquisition.
