AIST Board Member Named BEUMER Corp. CEO
06/03/2020 - German material handling specialist BEUMER Group has brought aboard steel industry veteran Joseph "Joe" Dzierzawski to lead its North American subsidiary.
As president and chief executive of BEUMER Corp., Dzierzawski will oversee the company’s business in North America. Based in New Jersey, it has operations in Kansas, Texas and Mexico.
“I look forward to the challenge of expanding my career outside of metallurgical plant building by joining an organization that is highly diversified and successful in serving multiple industries,” Dzierzawski said.
Founded in 1935, BEUMER Group specializes in building intralogistics systems for conveying, loading, palletizing, sortation and baggage handling. The privately held company has approximately 4,500 employees and annual revenues of more than USD$1 billion.
Dzierzawski, who serves as AIST’s board treasurer, previously worked for the Hatch Metals & Minerals group, where he served as global director for technology and business development. Prior to that, he was the president and chief executive of SMS USA and chief technology officer for SMS group Inc.
Dzierzawski holds a degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Michigan and has attended executive management programs at the University of Michigan School of Business and INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
