AISI Brings Aboard Tax and Trade Policy Specialist
01/05/2017 - The American Iron and Steel Institute has hired an automotive industry representative as its new tax and trade policy director.
Raphael Goodstein, whose appointment took effect Tuesday, previously had been the legislative director for the American Automotive Policy Council, which represents the common public policy interests of Fiat Chrysler, Ford Motor and General Motors.
“Raphy’s government affairs experience, including his advocacy with Congress and the executive branch on issues that are key for the steel industry and our customers -- like tax and trade -- make him an outstanding addition to the AISI team,” said Thomas J. Gibson, the institute’s president and chief executive.
“He has a proven track record working successfully on behalf of manufacturing industries, and we are fortunate he is joining us here at AISI to continue advancing our strategic goals.”
Goodstein holds a master’s degree in government from Johns Hopkins University.
