The project is an effort of Ajwaa Gases LLC, a joint venture of Air Products and Saudi Arabian Refrigerant Gases Co. of Saudi Arabia (SARGAS). SARGAS is an affiliated company of Abdullah Hashim Gases and Equipment, Air Products’ industrial gas joint venture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 
The new air separation unit (ASU) will produce more than 400 tons of oxygen and nitrogen for the facility per day.
 
“The successful signing of the third ASU demonstrates our commitment to supporting growing customers in Oman and the Middle East region,” said Hamid Sabzikari, vice president and general manager, Air Products Industrial Gases Middle East, Egypt and Turkey.
 
The gases, according to a press release from Air Products, will be used in the facility’s direct reduced iron plant and steel meltshop.
