According to AIC, the line, which is being installed at the steelmaker’s Sarezzo plant, will enable production of wire rod in diameters ranging from 5.5 mm to 25 mm at speeds up to 110 m/second. The line will complement an existing special bar quality line and a garret coil line. 

AIC will be responsible for the design, manufacture, and commissioning of the entire power and control system, including the main AC drives for high-speed blocks, shears and laying head; all of the auxiliary drives; and complete automation and interface with the existing mill. 

AIC also will set up a main control room with command desks and CCTV for the whole plant, from the reheat furnace to the rolling mill and to the three finishing lines.
