AIC Completes Tying Machine Install
11/12/2020 - Automazioni Industriali Capitanio (AIC) has installed two new bar tying machines at Alfa Acciai Group’s Acciaierie di Sicilia facility, the company reports.
According to AIC, its ATS Mechatronics unit built and integrated the machines, and AIC upgraded the electrical and automation system that serves the cooling bed exit and bundle forming areas of the mill.
AIC said the project was intended to increase performance and reduce downtime by replacing obsolete equipment and upgrading the automation system. The equipment was installed during an outage this summer, AIC said.
