AIC, Pomini Get the Nod for Swedish Rolling Mill Upgrade
02/24/2023 - Ovako AB has contracted Italy’s Automazioni Industriali Capitanio (AIC) and Pomini Long Rolling Mills to modernize a hot mill at its Hällefors facility in Sweden.
According to AIC, the project focuses on the mill’s pendulum shear and stand Nos. 4-7. New electrical and automation equipment is to be installed along with new power control panels.
“This modernization project will also add main and auxiliary drives panels for the mill and coil handling area, and new main ABB AC motors,” the company said.
Commissioning is scheduled for July.
