Agreement: Hydnum Steel to Provide Green Steel to thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe

“Interest in clean steel is growing rapidly, and we need partners like Hydnum to offer solutions that combine sustainability and innovation,” said Marcus Wöhl, chief executive officer of thyssenkrupp Materials Processing.

Hydnum Steel said it will supply the company with up to 100,000 metric tons of decarbonized flat steel per year for an initial period of seven years.

thyssenkrupp Materials Processing said the agreement will enable them to expand its range of environmentally friendly products and provide sustainable solutions. Currently, they have a range of products in sectors including the automotive industry, construction and household appliances.

“We are building something more than steel; we are setting the standard for what it means to be sustainable in the 21st century and demonstrating that it is possible to produce steel another way,” said Eva Maneiro, chief executive officer of Hydnum Steel.

The agreement also includes the companies’ collaboration on low environmental impact logistics solutions, optimizing deliveries and reducing emissions. They will also work together to develop innovative business models and processing strategies.
