Aditya Mittal Joins ArcelorMittal Board
06/15/2020 - Aditya Mittal, ArcelorMittal chief financial officer and likely successor as chief executive, has been elected to the company’s board of directors.
Mittal was voted onto the board during the company’s annual meeting, held on Monday. He’ll join the board as a non-independent directors. Former Luxembourg economy minister Etienne Schneider also was elected as an independent director during the meeting. Each will serve three-year terms.
Mittal is the son of ArcelorMittal founder and chief executive Lakshmi Mittal. The younger Mittal has held leadership roles with the company following its formation in 2006. In addition to serving as chief financial officer, he also is the company’s president and chairman of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
