Acquisition Expands U.S. Galvanizer's Midwest Presence
02/02/2016 - U.S.-based AZZ Inc. is expanding its galvanizing capacity, acquiring Alpha Galvanizing Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
AZZ said that with the deal it will now have 43 hot-dipped facilities in the U.S. and Canada. Located in Nebraska, Alpha Galvanizing has a kettle that is 46 feet long, 6 feet wide and 8 feet deep. The facility will be renamed AZZ Galvanizing–Nebraska.
“We are pleased to enter a new galvanizing market in Nebraska with the acquisition of the assets of Alpha Galvanizing. From a geographic standpoint, the new AZZ Galvanizing-Nebraska is ideally located to support our Midwestern and Denver locations and their customers as needed,” said Tim Pendley, senior vice president and chief operating officer of AZZ’s galvanizing services unit.
Alpha serves steel fabricators that make electrical utility poles, agricultural machinery and industrial manufacturing components.
According to AZZ, Alpha was founded to bring galvanizing services to the Nebraska market and to support parent Olson Industries’ internal galvanizing demands. It also sells into Iowa and South Dakota.
