Acquisition Expand AZZ's Network of Galvanizing Shops
02/04/2019 - Fabricated products galvanizer AZZ Inc. has reached a preliminary agreement to acquire Tennessee Galvanizing Inc. and its four galvanizing lines for an undisclosed amount, the company said on Monday.
AZZ said the acquisition of the Jasper, Tenn., facility will expand its network of hot-dip galvanizing plants to 41 sites in the U.S. and Canada.
“The purchase of Tennessee Galvanizing expands our network of metal coatings facilities in North America that are able to provide a broad spectrum of metal coating services – from small piece goods to large components. We believe that existing and potential customers served by (the facility) will benefit from AZZ’s economies of scale," said Bryan Stovall, senior vice president of AZZ Metal Coatings.
The business will operate as AZZ Galvanizing – Chattanooga and will retain key managerial personnel and hourly employees currently employed at the facility. The deal is to close this spring.
