In a statement, UPG, which owns the Maksteel service centers as well as number of other steel fabricators and distributors, said the deal expands its Midwestern footprint further into the Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri. 

"The scope of Lexington Steel's team and capabilities only makes UPG's flat roll service center business stronger," said Chris Sekella, UPG’s executive vice president of U.S. operations. "This move also provides Maksteel with a deep bench of industry experts, many of whom have been with Lexington for more than 20 years.

Founded in 1968, Lexington Steel offers a variety of services, including slitting, cut-to-length, toll processing, logistics, packaging, shipping and warehousing.
