Acciaierie di Sicilia, Catania, Italy, has issued the acceptance certificate to SMS Meer SpA, Italy, for the successful final acceptance of the new Vertical Compact Coiler system (VCCTM).

The new 80 tonne/hour coiler system winds rebars and plain rounds into coils. It has a design speed of 36 meters/second, and is able to wind coils of up to three tonnes in weight.

Successful commissioning of the coiler system and the acceptance certificate follow a successful startup and performance tests with a range of different products.
