According to ABB, the platform offers real-time ladle tracking, automated crane scheduling and a predictive thermal modeling engine to enable steelmakers to move toward autonomous operations. It provides increased casting speed, reduced tapping delays and increased safety.
 
ABB Ability Smart Melt Shop has been installed as part of an expansion at JSW Steel’s Dolvi Works plant in India.
