A Few Key Investments Allowed TimkenSteel's Return to High-Pressure Tubing Market, Company Says
07/07/2016 - TimkenSteel, which is re-entering the market for a type of high-pressure tubing necessary to make a plastic, says the move was made possible by a few key investments over the last 10 years.
Among those, it said was a new in-line forge press at its Faircrest Steel Plant in Canton, Ohio, and the turning, boring and honing capabilities that came with its acquisition of what is now TimkenSteel Material Services unit.
“Our new assets make it possible to produce high-pressure tubing much more cost effectively and with shorter lead times than the process used in the 1980s and ‘90s,” said Chad Lacher, TimkenSteel’s industrial market manager, in a statement.
