Universal Stainless Adds New Independent Director

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. announced the addition of Christopher L. Ayers to the company's Board of Directors, bringing the total number of Directors to six. As an independent Director, Ayers will serve on each of the established committees of the Board.

Ayers, 42, brings a wide range of industry and management experience to his new position on the company’s Board. He served in several management roles at Precision Castparts Corp. from 1999 through December 2008, including Executive Vice President, and has also served as President—PCC Forgings Division and President of Wyman Gordon Forgings. Prior to joining Precision Castparts, Ayers served as Vice President of Operations at Quantum Laser Corp., an FAA repair facility for aerospace and industrial gas turbine blades. From 1989 to 1997, he held management positions involving various manufacturing aspects of jet engine and related components with Precision Components International and Pratt & Whitney.
 
Ayers holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
 
Headquartered in Bridgeville, Pa., Universal Stainless & Alloy Products manufactures and markets a broad line of semi-finished and finished specialty steels, including stainless steel, tool steel and certain other alloyed steels. The company's products are sold to re-rollers, forgers, service centers, original equipment manufacturers and wire re-drawers.
