U.S. ITC Sets Duties on Steel Pipe from Three Countries
11/18/2016 - The U.S. International Trade Commission on Friday affirmed anti-dumping duties on circular welded carbon-quality steel pipe from three countries.
The commission unanimously agreed that producers in Oman and the United Arab Emirates had undercut domestic prices and as a result had harmed U.S. producers. The decision on Pakistan was tied on a 3-3 vote.
However, the commission rejected an anti-dumping duty on Vietnam and an anti-subsidy duty on Pakistan, agreeing that volumes of dumped products that are subsidized by those governments are negligible.
The case arose on a complaint filed last fall by four U.S. producers: Bull Moose Tube Co., EXLTUBE, Zekelman Industries Inc.; and Western Tube and Conduit.
