Tube City Achieves ISO Recertification for Gary Operation

Jan. 16, 2007 — Tube City IMS Corp. announced that the company’s Tube City Division in Gary, Ind., has successfully passed an extensive ISO 9001:2000 quality system surveillance audit and retained its quality system certification from Steel Related Industries Quality System Registrar, Inc.
ISO 9001:2000 is a process-based certification that recognizes an organization’s ability to incorporate business objectives with operating effectiveness. Companies that achieve Quality Management System certification to ISO 9001:2000 have demonstrated effective implementation of documentation and records management, top management’s commitment to their customers, establishment of clear policy, good planning and implementation, good resource management, efficient process control, measurement and analysis of key performance factors and institutionalized continual improvement.

The Gary ferrous and nonferrous processing and brokerage facility has been ISO 9001:2000 certified since November 17, 1998.
