Timken to Add Manganese to Generic Alloy Surcharge
02/15/2008 - Timken will add manganese to its generic alloy surcharge effective with shipments beginning on April 1, 2008.
The Timken Co. says it will add manganese (Mn) to the company’s generic alloy surcharge for steel customers. The change takes effect with shipments beginning on April 1, 2008.
The company said it implemented the change in response to higher global demand and tightening supplies of manganese. Timken said that all other raw-material surcharges would remain in effect.
Timken provides innovative friction management and power transmission products and services. Timken’s approximately 25,000 employees generated sales of $5.2 billion in 2007 from its operations in 26 countries.
