Tenova Strip Processing has signed two contracts with Southern Steel Sheet Corporation (SSSC), a joint venture of Vietnam Steel Group with Sumitomo (Japan) and Federal Iron Works (Malaysia) for the production of high quality galvanized and color coated coils.
The new project will take place at the new SSSC plant in the industrial zone of Nhon Phu, Dong Nai Province, 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and was awarded during a ceremony for the 17th anniversary of SSSC’s foundation. During the event, SSSC celebrated its continually improving sales figures achieved over the last few years, thanks to the company’s high attention to the quality of final products, it says.
The project shall be completed in 26 months and is composed by:
• A galvanizing line using cold rolled low carbon steel as feedstock to produce 150,000 tonnes/year of aluminium-zinc or zinc coated carbon coils
• A color coating line using galvanized products or cold rolled steel to produce 70,000 tonnes/year of color coated coils.
These two lines are based on the most sophisticated technologies to meet high-quality demand in local market and neighboring countries, mainly for construction and architectural applications in tropical climatic conditions.
