Tenaris has extended its range of TenarisHydril premium connection products to include BlueDock™ connectors designed to serve oil and gas customers operating in offshore and HP/HT environments. Weld-on connectors are used extensively with large diameter conductor and surface casing in offshore applications and provide easy stabbing as well as trouble-free make-up for a fast and reliable running.

BlueDock™ connectors, which are manufactured at Tenaris’s welded pipe mill in Brazil, draw on TenarisHydril’s extensive expertise in proprietary connection design and experience of welding and pipe manufacturing. They will be featured at the Rio Oil & Gas show, which takes place September 17-20, 2012, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The new product is available with a metal-to-metal seal especially for high pressure gas applications (OD 20" to 22") and an elastomeric seal throughout the entire range, which extends from 20" to 36".

High performance features include:

• 100% rating in tension, compression and bending
• Sealability verified by tests based on ISO 13679 standards
• Up to three anti-rotational keys that prevent buck-off and provide additional support
• High fatigue performance under bending and/or tension-compression loads
