Techint Goodfellow Technologies Inc., Mississauga, Ont., recently completed the installation and commissioning of a state-of-the-art Goodfellow EFSOP™ (Expert Furnace System Optimization Process) system at Topy Industries Limited’s Toyohashi Works in Japan.
The newly installed Goodfellow EFSOP system will measure and analyze EAF off-gases (CO, CO2, H2 and O2) continuously at the fourth hole for real-time closed-loop process control of EAF steelmaking. It is a clean technology which provides a measurable environmental and economic benefit to steel production. Techint Goodfellow says the technology will also result in improved operations, energy savings, lower conversion costs and safety benefits.
The order for the EFSOP system was originally awarded by Sumitomo Canada Limited (SCL). It was completed in record time by Topy, SCL and TGTI personnel and represents the fourth fully commissioned Goodfellow EFSOP system in the Asian market.
