Tata Steel, Indian University Establishing New Research Center
08/16/2016 - Tata Steel and Indian Institute of Technology Madras have signed an agreement on establishing anadvanced materials research center, reports The Hindu newspaper.
According to the newspaper, the Tata Steel Advanced Materials Research Center will focus on developing green technologies and carbon-based, lightweight materials.
According to The (India) Economic Times, the center will primarily focus on graphene, a material that has attarcted much intertest because of its strength, conductivity and thinness -- it is essentially a two-dimensional material.
