To qualify for these scholarships:
Applicants must be accepted into, planning to attend, or currently enrolled in an eligible, full-time curriculum at an accredited university, college, or technical/trade school.
University Scholarship Applicants – The student would be preferably enrolled as a candidate for a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering, materials science, or metallurgy curriculum, although if there are no applicants in that fit those categories, the award may be given to an eligible student studying other majors relating to iron and steel production. The student’s home address must be within AIST Philadelphia Member Chapter area or must be attending a college or university in the Philadelphia Member Chapter area.
College/Technical Scholarships – The student must be accepted or enrolled as a candidate for an Associate degree in a STEM or STEAM curriculum, or a degree or certification in a technical field related to manufacturing or maintenance. The student’s home address must be within the AIST Philadelphia Member Chapter area, or the college or technical school must be within the AIST Member Chapter area.
To complete this application you must provide:
Scholarship application
A current resume with work experience, any extracurricular activities, noting any leadership positions, other honors and scholarships received.
One essay (500 words or less):
Describing one accomplishment you have made as a student, and
Describing your interest and/or involvement in the steel and iron industry.
One (1) letter of recommendation
Copy of current or college transcripts (high school transcripts if you are a high school senior)
