AIST Detroit Member Chapter Judith A. Quinn Scholarship ApplicationDeadline: 30 AprilTo qualify for these scholarships: You must have an AIST Parent Member active in the AIST Detroit Member Chapter,. You must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a university for the fall semester at an accredited North American College or University, full-time as an undergraduate student majoring in the field of engineering, metallurgy or materials science program at an accredited North American university. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. A strong interest in a career, or plans to pursue a career, in the iron and steel industry.
To complete this application you must provide: A current resume with work experience and any extracurricular activities, noting any leadership positions. An essay, not to exceed two pages in length, of your professional goals explaining why you are interested in a career in the iron and/or steel industry, and how your skills could be applied to enhance the industry. A copy of your university transcript. (provide High School transcript if you are a High School Senior) Three letters of recommendation which address character, academic status, leadership potential and career commitment from a counselor, teacher or professor, and an external source, preferably a previous employer. AIST Parent Member Name, Company and AIST Member number.
