(Essay should address any interest and/or connection to the steel industry, character, academic status, leadership positions, and career commitment and plans)
(Letters should be to the attention of the AIST Scholarship Committee and address any interest and/or connection to the steel industry, character, academic status, leadership potential, and career commitment)
Criteria Confirmation:  
  • I am enrolled full-time at an accredited North American University.
  • I have read the AIST Foundation scholarship criteria and application instructions provided on the website, and agree to all terms and conditions therein.
  • I understand I may be contacted by telephone for a pre-selection interview at the discretion of the Member Chapter Scholarship Chair.
  • I give permission to disclose my application for prospective employment to steel producer or industry supplier companies in North America.
  • In the event I am selected as a recipient of a scholarship, I give permission to AIST to publish my name and photograph.

You can become a member of AIST through the Material Advantage Student Program.
You may be eligible for the AIST Foundation Steel Intern Scholarship which provides a US$6,000 scholarship preceded by a summer internship at a steel company.

All scholarships and grants are awarded in accordance with AIST Foundation’s policies, which may be amended from time to time, and are subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees.  Scholarships and grants are awarded subject to availability and funding and AIST Foundation reserves the right to withdraw or amend any listed scholarship or grant without prior notification.  Scholarships and grants may be suspended or revoked at any time at the Board’s discretion.  In no event shall the AIST Foundation or the Board of Trustees be liable for any claim or cost associated with suspending or revoking any scholarship or grant.  All decisions by the Board shall be final and may not be appealed.
