Stelco Schedules Blast Furnace, Strip Mill Maintenance Outages

Sep. 29, 2006 — Stelco Inc. announced that it has scheduled a maintenance outage at its Hamilton Steel blast furnace for a period of 22 days commencing October 23, 2006.
The blast furnace will be partially refurbished during the outage, thereby extending its life and improving performance. The company says that delivery performance to customers will not be affected.
The company also announced a six-day maintenance outage in the fourth quarter at its Lake Erie hot mill.
Stelco is one of Canada's largest publicly traded steel companies. It is focused on its two Ontario-based integrated steel businesses located in Hamilton and in Nanticoke, which produce high quality value-added hot rolled, cold rolled, coated sheet and bar products.
