SSAB Announces Changes in Group Executive Committee

SSAB announced a change to its Group Executive Committee following the departure of SSAB Americas President David Britten, whose appointment as Vice President – Tubular Technology & Business Development was just announced by U.S. Steel.
 
Britten’s position as SSAB Americas President will be temporarily filled by Steve Hansen, PhD and Chief Technical Officer, until a permanent successor has been appointed.
 
“David Britten has done very good work for SSAB,” said Martin Lindqvist, President and CEO of SSAB. “During his tenure, SSAB Americas has developed strongly and showed a very good profitability.”

Lindqvist added that, “Our ambition is to appoint a new head of SSAB Americas soon.”
 
David Britten has served as head of the American operations in 2008, when he succeeded John Tulloch.
 
“It has been a privilege to have had the opportunity to work at SSAB. SSAB is a great company with a wonderful future,” said Britten.
