SeAH Steel, South Korea, recently started production on the galvanizing line supplied by SMS Demag.

With its new line, SeAH Steel will continuously galvanize cold rolled strips with thicknesses ranging from 0.3 to 1.6 mm and widths of 600 to 1,300 mm. The plant has two automatic strip cleaning systems in the entry section, both equipped with modern instrumentation technology that helps to assure a high degree of strip cleanliness prior to entry in the process as well as high quality final products.

SeAH Steel will produce 300,000 tons per year of grades including CQ, DQ, SQ and DDQ, all of which can be chromated or oiled.

Startup of the galvanizing line was executed four weeks prior to the contractual date.
