PSI Metals Establishes Subsidiary in the USA
02/14/2011 - PSI has founded PSI Metals North America, which will support PSI customers in Canada and the USA from its location in Pittsburgh and at the same time strengthen sales activities in North America.
PSI Metals North America Inc. has started its North American operations with an expert team of senior metals software consultants and sales professionals.
The new North American operation is intended to help improve customer support for a wide range of customers, including ArcelorMittal Dofasco, U.S. Steel, AK Steel, Severstal North America, ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA and Vallourec.
PSI Metals North America Inc. supplies production management solutions covering the areas of supply chain management (SCM), advanced planning and scheduling (APS), logistics, and manufacturing execution (MES) specialized to the metals industries. PSI Metals currently operates in several countries including Austria, Belgium, China, Germany, Russia and India.
In the medium term, the PSI Group will use its new subsidiary for entry into other fields of business in the American market. The PSI Group has been able to consistently expand its export in recent years and currently has 16 of the 20 largest steel producers as its customers.
The company intends to grow its new North American team rapidly in accordance with ongoing business development. The Pittsburgh office will be led by Harald Henning, Director of PSI Metals North America.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, and water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, mining, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1400 persons in the group.
