PSI BT to Implement Production Management System for V&M Tubes Facility

Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes has contracted PSI subsidiary PSI BT GmbH to implement the PSImetals production management system at its tube mill in Aulnoye, France.

To ensure production quality at the shop floor level, PSI will supply PSImetals PES (Production Execution System). PSImetals continuously captures and monitors all production and quality data and processes within the tube production complex. The integrated production management system will help to provide reliable material quality throughout the entire production process and to deliver products according to schedule.

PSImetals will be implemented as an integrated production management system as the first project phase for the complete seamless tube rolling process. Phase two, which will cover the heat treatment and several finishing lines, will be implemented separately.

Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes’ goals for the project include single-tube tracking, online inventory management (quantity and valuation), quality assurance, and a higher level of process control and transparency.

The implementation is planned for the end of April this year.
