Obituary: John D. Correnti

John was born to Nicholas and Sara Correnti in Mount Morris, New York. He had been a resident of Blytheville, Arkansas since 1987. John spent his life in the steel industry.

He had an illustrious career having previously been at the helm of Nucor, Birmingham Steel, SeverCorr, Big River Steel, Blue Oak Arkansas, Mississippi Silicon, and an on-going project, Silicor Materials. He was known as "The Man of Steel" and was the "Go To Guy" for expertise.

John served on the boards of Navistar International Corporation and Corrections Corporation of America and his Alma mater, Clarkson University. He was the heart and soul of our family and we will miss him. He has left an indelible imprint on all those he loved, mentored and befriended.

He is predeceased by his father, Nicholas William Correnti.

John is survived by his wife, Dawn; his son, Nicholas John "N.J." and daughter-in-law, Christina; two grandchildren, John Lucas and Lizabeth Dawn; his mother, Sara Correnti from Rochester, New York; his sister, Maryann Correnti, from Waite Hill, Ohio; and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Blytheville, Arkansas. Entombment will follow in Dogwood Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday evening, August 21, 2015 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blytheville Prayer Garden, P.O.
