20 July 2004 - Steel Technologies Inc. reported record net income of $10.5 million on record sales of $232.0 million for the third quarter, and record net income of $19.8 million on record sales of $547.7 million for the nine months ended June 30, 2004.

Metals USA Reports Record Second Quarter Results

20 July 2004 - Metals USA, Inc. announced net income of $33.7 million on net sales of $383.6 million and net income of $52.2 million on net sales of $702.8 million for the three and six months, respectively, ended June 30, 2004.

Canadian Trade Tribunal to Commence Interim Review of Hot Rolled Carbon Steel Plate

20 July 2004 - The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has initiated an interim review of its finding on dumped hot-rolled carbon steel plate from Brazil, Finland, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Ukraine, and subsidized hot-rolled carbon steel plate originating in or exported from India, Indonesia and Thailand.

Letter of Intent Signed for Acquisition of Kentucky Electric Assets

20 July 2004 - YouthStream Media Networks, Inc. has entered into a preliminary letter of intent with KES Holdings, LLC to acquire KES Acquisition Co., LLC, a 100%-owned subsidiary of KES Holdings. YouthStream currently owns a 1.00% membership interest in KES Holdings.

OSHA Committee Reaches Consensus on Cranes and Derricks Standard Revisions

15 July 2004 - The Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced that its Crane and Derrick Negotiated Rulemaking Committee (CDAC) has reached consensus on language for a revised crane and derrick standard for construction. The draft will be submitted to the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health and will continue through the rulemaking process.

Timken Business Recommended for ISO-TS 16949:2002 Certification

2004 Steel Shipments Continue to Increase Over 2003 Totals

15 July 2004 - U.S. steel mills shipped 9,194,000 net tons in May 2004, according to the latest data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). The May shipments represent a 7.3% increase from the 8,567,000 net tons shipped in May 2003, and an 0.6% increase from the 9,142,000 net tons shipped in the previous month, April 2004.
