Northwest Pipe Announces New Mexico Order

27 July 2005 - Northwest Pipe Co. has received an order to supply approximately $5 million of welded steel pipe to S.J. Louis Construction, Inc. of Waite Park, Minn. The pipe will be used in the Drinking Water Pipeline No. 1 -- Rio Grande to Paseo Del Norte for the City of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Year-to-Date Steel Imports Continue to Surpass 2004 Track

27 July 2005 - The United States imported a total of 2,565,000 net tons of steel in June according to the latest report from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), which is based on preliminary Census Bureau data. The total included 2,072,000 net tons of finished steel.

Metl-Span Adds New Steel Panel Plant in Nevada

26 July 2005 - Grupo Imsa has inaugurated a new insulated steel panel production facility in North Las Vegas. The US$8.5 million dollar investment increases the production capacity for Metl-Span, ImsaTec's U.S. subsidiary, by 30%. With the acquisition, Metl-Span now has production facilities in Texas, Virginia and Nevada, positioning it to better serve the entire U.S. market.
