New Tenova Pipe Heat Treatment Furnaces for TenarisTamsa

TenarisTamsa and Tenova LOI Italimpianti have recently signed a contract for one Austenitizing Furnace and one Tempering Furnace for pipes to be installed in the new pipe mill of TenarisTamsa Plant in Veracruz, Mexico.

The two furnaces have a production rate of 65 tonnes per hour.

According to Tenova, the main features of these furnaces will be the installation of flameless burners on the Hardening Furnace to ensure low NOx emissions and best temperature uniformity into the furnace and on the pipe itself, and installation of self-recuperative burners in the soaking zone of the Hardening Furnace. This solution is said to maximize the heat recovery from waste gases and make the furnace more flexible by keeping the heating and soaking zones independent.
