Morgan Construction Co. has signed a contract with Aceralia Redondos Zumarraga, of Zumarraga, Spain, for an upgrade to the company's twin-strand rod mill.

Morgan will add intermediate mill pinch roll units within the existing high yield quenched and self-tempered (HYQST^™) water cooling system for both strands. The upgrade," commented Mark Shore, Vice President, Rolling Mill Sales and Proposals, "is designed to improve the mill's rolling speed and reduce the length of uncooled front and tail ends."

Aceralia Redondos Zumarraga currently produces rebar on the rod mill for use in the construction industry.
