According to the Business Times, McMaster will be able to provide support for existing versions of the software, called Hot Strip Mill Model (HSMM), and develop new versions that address the steel industry’s growing needs of the industry.

“The HSMM product needed to be updated to include new grades of steel and associated technologies. We were just not in a position to handle the effort. McMaster University had been working to extend the HSMM and clearly represented the best option for the future of the product,” INTEG chief executive and owner Bruce Cloutier told the newspaper.
