AIST Breaking Down Barriers for Steel’s Next Generation

In 2018, AIST organized a Women in Steel Focus Group in conjunction with AISTech. This group of female industry personnel examined the perceptions, opinions, beliefs and attitudes of women employed in the steel industry.
To learn more about the industry’s assessments, the focus group charged AIST with creating and distributing a comprehensive survey to its networks via email and social media outreach. A total of 581 individuals completed the survey in September 2018.
In April 2019, AIST published an article in Iron & Steel Technology to present the survey results.
