Leading Steel Executives Debate Industry's Key Issues at AISTech 2014 Town Hall Forum

The panelists will discuss Steel 2014: Building a Pipeline to the Future and will provide their insight on an array of topics related to achieving a sustainable steel industry. Topics will focus on new technologies related to the natural gas renaissance, the impact of direct reduced iron on scrap, market developments for steel applications and recent safety initiatives that have made an impact. Panel members will include:

George J. Koenig, president, Berry Metal Co., will be the Town Hall Forum chair. Jon Delano, money and politics editor, KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh, Pa., will return for a fifth year as moderator.

AISTech 2014 will be held 5–8 May at the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis, Ind., and will offer a program with numerous technical presentations, keynote presentations by today's business leaders, an expansive exposition and plant tours.

The Technology Conference will showcase nearly 500 presentations on aspects of iron and steel manufacturing technology. Highlights include the latest environmental technologies throughout the iron- and steelmaking process; advancements in rolling and coating technologies; safe work practices and procedures for projects, production and maintenance; cutting-edge research and advancements in the processing, product development and application of steel; the latest in automation and control systems; and discussions on efficient material movement both within the facility and to the customer.

The Exposition offers attendees a chance to meet face-to-face with key individuals who specify, purchase, design, and operate a variety of plants and facilities associated with the production and processing of iron and steel. The 2014 Exposition is the largest yet, with a total area of 283,200 square feet, and will feature more than 500 domestic and international companies for an unrivaled display of global steel technology.
