Lakeside to Start up New End Finishing Processes; Announces Management Changes
08/13/2009 - Lakeside Steel is nearing startup of new end finishing capabilities including upsetting and threading at its Welland facility. The company also announced the appointment of Ron Bedard as Lakeside’s new President and CEO, replacing Tim Clutterbuck.
Lakeside Steel Inc. announced that its wholly owned Lakeside Steel Corp. subsidiary is nearing completion on the installation of end finishing capability at its Welland facility.
Lakeside also announced that Ron Bedard, who was recently appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Lakeside Steel, has been appointed President and CEO of Lakeside. He replaces Tim Clutterbuck who resigned after having served in that capacity for 22 months.
"We are grateful for Tim's role in guiding Lakeside to a profitable year ended March 31, 2009, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors," stated Vic Alboini, Lakeside Steel’s Chairman and CEO.
Lakeside additionally announced that Gregg Cousins will no longer commence employment with the company on August 17th as previously announced, but instead will pursue other interests. Cousins was to have served as Vice President Commercial.

Lakeside will officially open its new finishing line on September 16, 2009, in a ceremony celebrating 100 years of continuous manufacturing in Lakeside's business in Welland.
