Gerdau Invests $253 Million in Its Mill in Peru

Gerdau announced an investment package of US$253 million in Siderperu, the company’s operation in Peru, with the aim of expanding its production capacity of steel and rolled products in the country. The plan includes a new rolling mill for rebar and wire that will produce 900,000 tonnes per year. With this, the rolling mill capacity at Siderperu will quadruple from the current 300,000 tonnes to 1.2 million tonnes per year.

 

Furthermore, a new electric furnace will be installed with an annual production capacity of 360,000 tonnes of steel, increasing the installed capacity of the plant to 1.1 million tonnes per year.
